Campers explore hands-on activities to learn about the difference between mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods (bugs!) and how to classify them based on morphology, symmetry and more. We will provide a visual and memorable learning experience through observation, dissection and more. Campers learn these concepts through activities, crafts, and create their own personal Zoology notebook.
The Citizen Science Lab is fully equipped with the tools and equipment needed to facilitate fun, engaging and safe experiments. All students are provided with gloves, safety goggles and lab coats to be used during their activities. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing that can withstand small messes. While food and drink is not permitted inside the lab, participants are welcome to pack snacks and eat them in the lobby.
