The Citizen Science Lab, as the Pittsburgh site of the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE), is hosting training sessions for regional high school science teachers. The ABE program provides teachers with hands-on biotechnology curriculum and intensive development so that teacher can in turn prepare students for STEM careers and bolster the country’s economy and STEM-dependent industries. After completion of the 4 training sessions, teachers are provided with not only a "kit"  comprised of lab equipment and supplies but also extensive teacher support.

All training, materials, and support are provided at no charge. Act 48 credits will be awarded to teachers who complete the entirety of the program. Teacher participants will also receive a stipend at the culmination of the program.
