The Citizen Science Lab, as the Pittsburgh site of the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE), is hosting training sessions for regional middle and high school science teachers. The ABE program provides teachers with hands-on biotechnology curriculum and intensive professional development so that teachers can, in turn, prepare students for STEM careers and bolster the country’s economy and STEM-dependent industries. After completion of the training program, teachers are provided with not only a "classroom kit*" comprised of lab equipment and supplies but also extensive technical support from The Citizen Science Lab.
